Film Friday- Fairy Tail

Film Friday- Fairy Tail

As one of the two anime’s we will be choosing from to watch in September I wanted to give a little information about the anime version of Fairy Tail. The anime of Fairy Tail closely follows the manga so no argument about which is better. The anime’s original run was for 175 episodes then the second season was was for 101 episodes for a total of 277 episodes. But don’t despair because there is going to be a new season in the works that continues where it left off. In addition to the TV series there have been six original video animations or OVAs set in the Fairy Tail world. They are mostly Omakes or extras but still fun to watch. Omake often include comedy sketches where the characters behave out of character, break the fourth wall, or subtly address opinions of the fandom known to the writers. Sometimes scenes from the TV show or OVA are humorously re-dubbed. There has been one movie in the Fairy Tail world Fairy Tail the Movie: Phoenix Priestess but another one is in the works. All in all Fairy Tail is an interesting and thriving anime that is going to so much fun to watch together! See you in September for some great anime!

Manga Mondays- Fairy Tail

Manga Mondays- Fairy Tail

FairyTail-Volume 1 Cover.jpg

Fairy Tail is written and illustrated by Hiro Mashima. It has been in publication since 2006 in Weekly Shōnen Magazine and is over 56 volumes long. The basic plot is this Seventeen-year-old wizard Lucy Heartfilia runs away from home to join Fairy Tail, a wizards guild famous for its members’ overly destructive antics. She is invited into the guild by Natsu Dragneel, a wizard with dragon-like abilities. Lots of comedy and action ensue for these two and their friends. We have the first three volumes available at the Mobile Public Library so come down get them or place them on hold if they are out.

Anime in September

Anime in September

So starting September 3 from 2-4 p.m. at the West Regional Library in Mobile Al we are going to show either Fairy Tail or Ouran High School Host Club. I want the people watching the anime to pick which one first. Both are great but come on Tamaki

Who can say no to that face? Or this one? http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/jj90/chinkchai/ouran/TamakiEyesbymeibiseiya.png

But I do admit that Gray is nice too https://d.wattpad.com/story_parts/106370864/images/13c5fa8dc2d928a4.jpg

Both animes are winners but which is your favorite? Over-the-top humor or over-the-top action?
